Sinopsis Buku Food as a Human Right
The author has organized the chapters into four broad sections. The first is the most substantial part of the book in terms of the number of chapters. In this section, the author discusses, both through case studies and theoretical approaches, the causes of hunger.
The scope here is wide, encompassing the specific economic, social, and political dynamics of peripheral capitalism, the nature of the global economic system, the ecological carrying capacity of the planet, as well as the erasure of cultural identity through the denial of people’s access to their own food. This section sets the stage for the discussions that follow.

Section II explores how legal arguments within the field of human rights can be combined with the developmentalist’s concern for food. The discussion here is both theoretical and grounded in practical application.
Section III examines several examples of international action and their varying degrees of success and failure, while the concluding chapters in Section IV return to the central theme of the book: the value of viewing the food problématique through a human rights lens.
