This book, the first of its kind, answers all these questions by showing the readers “case studies” of Indonesia’s experience with foreign capital that span more than four centuries, from 1511 to 1980.
The author is a lawyer by training. He obtained his first law degree (Sarjana Hukum) from the University of Indonesia and continued his study at the Hague Academy of International Law.

He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Minnesota Law School. He also holds the degrees of Master of Law (L.L.M.) and Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) from Harvard Law School.
